Sneakers are a tricky subject for me: I can’t afford them because all my money goes to bikes. And I don’t really like the idea of conspicuous consumerism during a time when the Earth is dying—especially consumer goods made from plastic and leather. And yet… I really love sneakers.

Lucky for me, I still get to occasionally write about sneakers, which for me is about the second-best thing to owning them.
